Gameplay Insights

We think we have some pretty cool gameplay elements in Stealing The Horizons, whilst some of these may exist in other games separately we think the way we have pulled them together make this quite a different experience. Here we take a look at some of the more significant ones.

Objectives based

Choose your objectives before the battle and race to complete them, including capturing the Horizons - powerful artifacts with unlimited potential. In this far reach of space the Spiritweave touches the land allowing warriors to return to the battlefield after death! This means combat does not win the game, only delay your opponent.

Strategic Element

Range bands

Range is a fixed distance rather than a maximum, creating movement puzzles to get your shot off and still stay relevant on the grid. Range Bands extend in a square around the attacking unit making it simple to determine if you are at the correct range to fire!

Puzzle Element

Momentum

A unique momentum-based turn sequence creates opportunities to react in real-time to an opponent's key decisions and keeps players engaged.

HYBRID DESIGN

By combining board game components and design with wargame elements people from all gaming backgrounds can enjoy Stealing the Horizons. 2D standees and 3D mini’s are available!

Vertical Movement

Our movement system allows units to navigate the 3D terrain to gain an advantage on the enemy. Vertical movement is a problem solved differently depending on the faction, this allows players to solve problems in multiple different ways.

Cross to Cross

By utilising a larger grid movement is simplified and targeting a square or unit is made easy using the cross to cross system. Meaning precise placement in the square is unimportant - no need to measure to the millimetre! This makes for a faster paced game and better represents the dynamic combat in the Stealing the Horizons universe.
